Figure Fruit

Student privacy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This page explains how Figure Fruit treats students who use the site in a classroom. It is written for teachers, parents and school technology staff. The general privacy policy covers everyone else.

In short: in Classroom Mode, Figure Fruit does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information about students.

What Classroom Mode is

Classroom Mode is a setting that a teacher turns on by opening a Figure Fruit link that ends in ?classroom=1. It stays on for the rest of that browser tab’s session. A banner at the top of each page confirms that it is on.

What does not happen in Classroom Mode

What does happen

COPPA, FERPA and state laws

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) restricts the collection of personal information from children under 13. In Classroom Mode, Figure Fruit collects none, so parental consent is not needed for a student to play. Figure Fruit does not receive education records, so the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is not triggered by students using the site in Classroom Mode, and Figure Fruit does not need to act as a school official.

Many states also have student privacy laws that apply to operators of educational sites. Because no student data is collected in Classroom Mode, we believe those obligations have nothing to attach to. Districts are free to review this page and to ask us for a written statement or a completed vendor questionnaire.

This page describes our practices. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace your district’s own review.

Outside Classroom Mode

If a student opens Figure Fruit without Classroom Mode, the regular site rules apply. Accounts and leaderboards are limited to people aged 13 and older, and the sign-up form asks users to confirm that they meet that requirement. Students under 13 should not create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email team@figurefruit.com and we will delete it promptly.

Parents

You may ask us at any time what we know about your child, ask us to delete it, or tell us that your child has used the site without your permission. Email team@figurefruit.com. If your child’s class uses Figure Fruit, the teacher has most likely used Classroom Mode, and there is nothing to delete.

Changes

If we change this page, we will update the date at the top. We will not begin collecting student information in Classroom Mode without first giving teachers and schools clear notice on this page.
