Figure Fruit

How to play Affix-It

Every day Affix-It gives you a prefix (the letters at the start of a word, like un- or tri-) or a suffix (the letters at the end, like -less or -ness). You have 60 seconds to write down as many real words as you can that start or end with it. Prefixes and suffixes take turns, one each day.

How a round works

  1. Read today’s word part on the dictionary page, then press Start the 60 seconds.
  2. Type only the missing part of the word. If the prefix is tri-, type be to write tribe. If the suffix is -less, type care to write careless. You can also type the whole word, and it still works.
  3. Press Enter. A real word is written onto the page and scores. A word that isn’t in the dictionary is scribbled out.
  4. When the pencil at the top runs out, your round ends and you see your results.

What counts as a word

Scoring

Your results

After the timer ends you see your score, every word you wrote, and a list of good words you could have written. Tap any word to see what it means. If you are online you also see how you compare with everyone who played that day. You can copy a short result to share without giving away your words.

Practice rounds

Want to warm up? Try a practice round. It uses a random prefix or suffix, you can play as many as you like, and nothing is saved or counted.

Leaderboard and accounts

You can play without an account, and your score still counts toward the daily percentile. To appear on the leaderboard, sign in or create a free Figure Fruit account. The same account works in every Figure Fruit game. The daily puzzle changes at midnight US Eastern time, and everyone gets the same prefix or suffix. You get one scored round a day.
