How to play World Tour
Every day there is one secret country, the same for everyone. You start with $1,000 and a plane. Zoom in on a continent, buy hints, and land on the right country before your cash runs out. The more money you have left when you land, the higher your score.
Buying hints
Tap a price from $10 to $100 to buy a hint. You don’t pick which hint you get: you get a random one at that price. Cheap hints are broad facts that are true of many countries, such as its continent or which side of the road people drive on. Expensive hints are specific trivia like laws, history, demographics, languages and famous people. You can buy as many as you like, but every hint comes out of your cash.
What costs money
| Cost | Amount |
|---|---|
| A hint | −$10 to −$100 |
| A wrong guess | −$50 |
| Jet fuel | −$10 per minute, up to −$100 in total |
If your cash reaches $0, the flight is over and your score is $0. If you land on the right country, your score is the cash you have left. Your plane’s fuel bar shows how much the clock has cost you so far. The fuel clock starts when you take off, and it keeps counting if you reload the page.
Three modes
- Easy: the map shows country borders. Type a country in the search bar or click it on the map.
- Medium: borders are drawn, but there is no search bar. You have to find the country and click it.
- Hard: a plain map with no borders, just land and sea. Click where you think it is. A wrong click turns that country red so you don’t repeat it.
All three modes share the same country and the same hints, and you get one flight per day. You choose your mode before takeoff and can’t change it after. Hard is no riskier for your cash than Easy, but it is a lot harder to know what you are clicking.
Tiny countries and territories
Use the Zoom in tabs (North America, Europe, Africa and so on) to jump to a continent. You can also drag the map, pinch, or use the + and − buttons. Very small countries are hard to click on a map, so they get a small marker you can tap. Territories that aren’t countries (like Greenland) are never the answer, and clicking them doesn’t cost you anything.
Your result
When you finish you see the country, your score, a breakdown of what you spent, and a percentile showing how you did compared with everyone who played that day in your mode and across all modes. You can copy a short result to share without giving away the answer.
Practice flights
Want to warm up? Try a practice flight. It uses a random country (never today’s), you can play as many as you like, and nothing is saved or counted.
Leaderboard and accounts
You can play without an account, and your score still counts toward the daily percentile. To appear on the leaderboard, sign in or create a free Figure Fruit account. The same account works in every Figure Fruit game. The daily country changes at midnight US Eastern time.
Tips
- Start with a cheap hint or two to narrow down the continent, then spend more only if you need to.
- A wrong guess costs as much as a $50 hint, so a hint is usually a better buy than a blind guess.
- Don’t dawdle. Fuel is cheap, but it adds up over ten minutes.
- Expensive hints can still apply to many countries. Read them carefully before you guess.
