How to play Define-It

Define-It is a daily word game that works like a pop quiz. A definition is written on the chalkboard, and five words sit below it. Only one word matches. Your job is to erase the four that do not, without erasing the right one.

How a day works

  1. You get five rounds. The words get harder as the day goes on, from Easy to Brutal. Everyone gets the same five definitions that day.
  2. Tap a word once to pick it, then tap it again to erase it. The first tap is a safety check, so you will not erase something by accident.
  3. Erase all four wrong words and the round is cleared. You earn a 2-point bonus and the right word is circled.
  4. If you erase the real word, the round ends right away and you keep half of the points you had earned in that round. You still see the answer.
  5. There is no timer, so take your time. After round five you get your report card and your place on the leaderboard.

Scoring

Every wrong word you erase earns points. Later rounds are worth more.

RoundPoints per eraseClean round
1 (Easy)416 + 2 bonus
2 (Warm-up)520 + 2 bonus
3 (Medium)520 + 2 bonus
4 (Tough)520 + 2 bonus
5 (Brutal)624 + 2 bonus

You are graded out of 100, like a test. A perfect day earns extra credit, for a top score of 110 and an A+★. The scoreboard at the top always shows the best grade you can still get.
