How to play Label Lab
Label Lab is a ranking game about food. Each round gives you four foods and one nutrient, such as sugar, salt, protein, fat, calcium, iron or vitamin C. Put the foods in order from the lowest to the highest.
How a day works
- You get four rounds that get harder: Easy, Medium, Hard, Hard. Everyone gets the same four rounds that day.
- Each round names one nutrient. Values are per 100 g of the food. Vitamins and minerals are compared as a percent of the Daily Value.
- Tap the four foods in order, lowest first, then press Lock in order. Use Undo if you change your mind before locking.
- After each round you see the correct order and the real numbers.
Scoring
- You get 25 points for every food you put in the right place, so up to 100 a round.
- A perfect day is 400. Higher is better. The leaderboard shows the highest scores first.
- Easy rounds have foods that are far apart. Hard rounds have foods that are close together.
Vitamins and minerals
Vitamin and mineral rounds use the percent of the Daily Value (%DV) per 100 g. Fortified foods such as milk and breakfast cereal include the vitamins added to them.
About the numbers
Values are typical for each food and are rounded the way a printed label rounds them. Real products vary by brand, so use the game as a guide to how foods compare, not as dietary advice. If two foods in a round have exactly the same value, either order counts as correct.
Leaderboard and accounts
You can play without an account, and your score still counts toward the daily percentile. To appear on the leaderboard, sign in or create a free Figure Fruit account. The same account works in every Figure Fruit game. The daily puzzle changes at midnight US Eastern time. Practice days are unlimited and never count.
Tips
- Oils, nuts and cheese are high in calories and fat. Fruit, vegetables and drinks are low.
- Sodium is highest in cured, canned and salty foods. Sugar stands out in fruit, juice, sweets and cereal.
- Dairy leads for calcium, leafy greens and cereals for iron, and peppers, citrus and berries for vitamin C.
